Welcome to Dylan Days
Welcome to the online home of Dylan Days, an organization supporting the arts and honoring Bob Dylan in his hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota. Over the years Dylan Days has built a grassroots tradition including the singer/songwriter contest, writing contest and literary showcase, visual arts competition, Bobby Zimmerman bus tour, live music and more.
Our independent group is called Dylan Days of Hibbing, MN. This group is dedicated to the planning of Dylan Days but also supports the arts and special Dylan projects in Hibbing. For information on Dylan Days or our supporting organization, e-mail us at

Dylan Days began informally in 1991 at Zimmy's Bar and Restaurant in Hibbing, Minnesota (Bob Dylan's hometown). The Dylan-themed establishment hosted a small birthday gathering in Bob's honor that included some impromptu musical performances. In 2001, the city of Hibbing, including the chamber of commerce and partners in education, began hosting what we now call Dylan Days. Eventually, we formed an independent organization to handle the event. In the years since, more and more people poured into the Iron Range town of Hibbing every May to celebrate one of America's greatest musicians and poets.
Today, Dylan Days is a growing regional event and independent not-for-profit organization that brings both professional and amateur musicians, poets, writers, artists, and performers together for a celebration of entertainment and Bob Dylan appreciation. It is our goal to celebrate and encourage emerging writers, musicians and artists in Northeastern Minnesota, especially in Hibbing, in honor of Bob Dylan.
